Latham resigns [18 Jan 2005|03:57pm] Well, So Latham's gone. If it's for health reasons, that sucks. And if it's really bowing to party pressure, well that sucks too. He has my sympathy. Whatever the reason, it's time for the ALP to look forward. What are the chances? Howzabout we take this chance to suggest that the ALP select somebody to run who: a) believes in creating a more equitable society b) isn't afraid to say so How about we try a little experiment and, just for a year or so, ignore the polls, ignore the media speculation, and see whether the ALP can make the public believe it actually cares about the future of the country more than its internal tussles... How about the ALP play a little game where they pick a leader who cares about social justice, and, just for a little while, how about everyone at least pretends to support that person and all be on the same side? what are the chances?
